EXTRA! EXTRA! Komen closed one year ago. Keep your breast cancer dollars local and join our PINK OUT

CALLING ATTENTION to all Arizona residents and companies who support breast cancer awareness, education, prevention, and direct assistance. Many are still unaware that Komen closed their doors over a year ago in 2017! The loss of their funds has been detrimental to our community. Whether you liked or disliked Komen the funds they raised in Arizona helped fund education for close to 200,000, over 50,000 screening mammograms and close to 9,000 diagnostic procedures in 2016 alone!!! Their absence created a devastating deficit for breast health resources for women in Arizona.

Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! made a GIANT leap to help fill their gap and ensure the needs of our community can still be met. Our mission is to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer through education, prevention and direct assistance with free wigs and free mammograms. 100% of funds we raise stay local and are invested back in our community to assist women in Arizona.

In light of Komen closing their doors we have been working diligently and swiftly to expand all of our programs including our free mammogram events. Capacity building at this stage and level requires funding. We are asking for the support of our community. Please consider Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! as your breast cancer charity of choice. You can share our message, volunteer your time or in-kind services, join and rally a team for our 2nd Annual PINK OUT 5K October 6th, sponsor our events, or donate to our mission. Again, 100% of funds we raise stay local and assist women in Arizona.

Arizona needs your breast caner donations. If people/companies chose to support national breast cancer organizations instead of local non-profits the majority of funds leave our state. Women will suffer. Women will lose valuable education that saves lives. Women will lose funds for assistance with life-saving mammograms and diagnostic testing. We will all suffer.

We are hosting our 2nd Annual PINK OUT 5K October 6th, 2018 at Steele Indian School Park. Come out and walk, run or dance your way through our 5K with live music, local vendors, food trucks and FREE Mammograms!

Whether you choose to support Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! or another breast cancer non-profit PLEASE chose local. There are many trusted local breast cancer non-profits working extremely hard to assist women in Arizona. Over 5,200 women in Arizona are diagnosed with breast cancer every single year. It is imperative our resources remain in Arizona.

Together we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer in Arizona! Make a difference with Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump!

Live and Give,

Holly Rose
