Wow, our hearts are absolutely bursting with gratitude! If you joined us for our very first Pink Soirée, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry, we’re about to give you an inside peek at one of the most magical nights we’ve ever experienced!
The Check for a Lump team spent months planning, preparing, and then getting prettied up… and in the blink of an eye, the evening became a memory. But oh, what an unforgettable memory it is! It was a night of hope, celebration, and elegance. All in support of a cause that’s so near and dear to our hearts.
Let’s start with you — our incredible guests. The moment you walked through those doors, you were the true showstoppers. The room lit up with your amazing energy, your radiant smiles, and your warm kindness. And the fashion? Simply unforgettable! We’ve seen you rock some extravagant costumes at our much loved Wig Out events, but seeing everyone glowing and shimmering in pink was breathtaking. From stunning dresses to bold, courageous pink suits — you brought the sparkle, and we couldn’t get enough of it.
A huge thank you to our talented photographer, Marion Rhoades, and videographer, Brett Haehl, who captured so many beautiful moments throughout the night. We keep looking back on those photos and videos and relive the magic. And speaking of fun memories — the 360° photo booth was an absolute hit! Seeing everyone strike a pose and let loose made for some truly delightful moments.
The venue was transformed into a pink wonderland thanks to the incredible work of Michael Mazzocco Events. Every corner dazzled with elegant touches — the soft pink up-lighting, the whimsical florals, it all came together to create a breathtakingly beautiful atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a dream!
But the true heart of the evening happened during the program. Our amazing Executive Director, Ashley Plum, guided us through games and took us on a heartfelt journey through 15 incredible years of Check for a Lump. We laughed, we reminisced, and we celebrated the impact we’ve made together — from Pink Outs and Wig Outs to volunteer events, dance mobs, fashion shows, and beyond.
The most touching moments came when we met our extraordinary, honored clients. We got a glimpse of their powerful stories of courage, healing, and hope. And the best part? We’ll get to hear even more when their full articles come out in the next Annual Check for a Lump magazine. These women inspire us, and their voices will continue to uplift and support others all year long.
Then came the live auction — and wow, did it bring the excitement! The phenomenal Leticia Fry, a breast cancer survivor herself, took the stage and worked her magic. With every
paddle raised, the generosity in the room was powerful. Dream vacations and unforgettable experiences were won, but the real victory was the incredible $63,000 we raised that night! Every single dollar will go toward helping women in our community — providing life-saving education, wigs, mammograms, and support.
As the program wrapped up, the party kept going! Music, dancing, laughter, and heartfelt connections filled the night. Our team ended the evening with full hearts, overwhelmed by gratitude and buzzing with hope for the future. Because this wasn’t just a party — it was a celebration of what we can achieve when we come together.
And guess what? We’re already dreaming up next year’s soirée — because yes, it’s happening again! We can’t wait to see who will join us in 2026 for another night of hope, laughter, and life-changing impact.
